We are committed to supporting all students during any required isolation and quarantine. This includes contact tracing, academic support, health services, and counseling services. UCSBs contact tracers will notify and consult individuals with positive COVID-19 cases and close contacts to provide isolation and quarantine instructions.
Additionally, all on-campus residents in isolation and quarantine will receive a call from a Housing Professional Staff member to provide support and assistance as needed.

Quarantine and Isolation
Isolation and quarantine help protect the public by preventing exposure to people who have or may have a contagious disease.
Isolation separates sick people with a contagious disease from people who are not sick.
Quarantine separates and restricts the movement of people who were exposed to a contagious disease to see if they become sick.

Meal Availability
- Non-Meal Plan Holders: Any non-meal plan holding student that moves into Quarantine or Isolation (Q/I) housing has the option to purchase a meal for delivery from Portola dining commons. The Q/I Coordinator will send instructions on how to do so. The cost is $12/meal and will be billed to the student's BARC.
- Meal Plan Holders: You are eligible for meal delivery regardless of if you move to Q/I housing or chose to quarantine/isolate in-residence. If you choose to move to Q/I housing then your Coordinator will guide you on how to order meals.
- If you choose to stay in your university-owned apartment to quarantine/isolate then you can order meals for delivery. This can happen twice a day, depending on your meal plan.
- You are eligible for meals equivalent to your meal plan so 7 or 10 meals, Lunch and/or Dinner, Monday-Friday.
- If you have food needs outside of these meals then we advise you to stay in your apartment/house (encouraging buddy system, ordering Instacart, etc.).
