The waiver enrollment site for Winter 2018 is now CLOSED! The waiver site will reopen on February 01, 2018.

NEW Gateway Feature: Students can now add their parent/guardian as an Authorized Representative to have access to certain areas of their account.

What You Need to Know about Your Health Insurance

Health Insurance is mandatory for all UCSB registered students and a condition of enrollment. The Gaucho Health Insurance Plan (GHI) is a comprehensive medical insurance program offered to UCSB students which includes vision and dental coverage, and access to most Student Health services with no additional charges. The premium for GHI is included in your total cost of attendance.  All registered students are automatically enrolled in GHI, but if you have comparable insurance and you do not want to keep GHI as dual coverage, you must submit a request to waive enrollment by the specified deadline.

Referrals are required for all appointments outside of SHS within 50 miles of UCSB -
please make an appointment at Student Health if you need one. Urgent Care Centers (link to after hours care sheet) and online visits with Teladoc (link to Teladoc handout) do not need referrals.

INCOMING Fall 2017 Freshmen and Transfers

Depending on your financial need, you may be eligible to have your Gaucho Health Insurance (GHI) premium fully or partially covered by a GHI grant. Please note that your Financial Aid Award will change if you waive out of GHI. For more info,  click here.
