Mask Information

Masks for fire/ash/soot:
Masks which seal off the nose and mouth (called “N95” masks) can be helpful outdoors to block particulates, but do not block all of the adverse effects of unhealthy air.

Where to find N95 masks:
Student Resource Building (SRB) and Rec Cen Information Desks, in the Residence Halls from R.A.’s and front desks, and at the Associated Students Pardall Center. They will also continue to be available in the lobby of the Student Health building.

Masks can be used multiple times, no need to replace every day.

Even if you are not able to obtain a mask, please do not panic. Brief exposures will not cause any harm. The best advice is to remain indoors as much as possible and avoid strenuous activity outdoors, and stay well hydrated.
