AIR QUALITY

Santa Barbara Air Quality Information can be found at https://www.ourair.org/todays-air-quality/. Student Health advises restriction of outdoor activities until the air quality improves, and avoiding strenuous activity, particularly for persons with underlying medical conditions. Please seek medical attention if you experience any breathing difficulties.

Masks which seal off the nose and mouth can be helpful outdoors to block particulates, but do not block all of the adverse effects of unhealthy air. Information about this from the Santa Barbara County Health Department can be found at http://cosb.countyofsb.org/phd/.

More than 8,000 N95 masks have been distributed on campus and more have now arrived. Student Health, Rec Cen, SRB and the dormitories will be distributing. Students, staff and faculty may obtain one free mask each today in the Student Health building until 4:30pm. An additional shipment of N-95 masks is expected to arrive on Monday. For more information, please refer to the Student Health website.
