The Gaucho Health Insurance (GHI) Advisory Committee was established in Fall 2013 to oversee the functioning of the UCSB student insurance program, and to provide broad input from campus stakeholders in annual plan benefit design and premium negotiations. The Committee includes representation from both undergraduate and graduate students, university officials, and representatives from campus student services. They make annual recommendations for GHI changes to the Chancellor, through the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and the Dean of the Graduate Division.
Meetings begin in early Fall to consider changes for the next school year, with final decision by mid-February. The Committee members welcome feedback and suggestions by email.”
Students are also welcome to attend the ad hoc meetings of the Student Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) and discuss their concerns about GHI or any Student Health service in an open forum.
