Student Health provides digital X-Rays on-site for the convenience of students and their clinicians, including all standard X-Rays of bones, chest, skull and abdomen. X-Rays are performed by Certified Radiologic Technologists and are available for viewing immediately. Professional interpretation is performed by Pueblo Radiology Medical Group, fully accredited by the American College of Radiology, who are always available for consultation with the student’s clinician. Pueblo Radiology also provides any other advanced imaging that might be needed at locations closeby to UCSB, using the most modern and advanced equipment.
Orders for X-Rays can be provided by the clinicians at Student Health or by outside (private) providers. To minimize waiting times, students may call Radiology directly at (805) 893-3589 to determine the best time for their X-Ray.
Students with UC SHIP insurance may obtain X-Rays at Student Health at no additional charge. Students who have waived the UC SHIP coverage will incur a discounted charge billed to their BARC account, and can request a billing statement to submit to their private health insurance company. Please feel free to ask the Radiology staff in advance about these charges.
How to obtain copies of digital X-Ray images done at Student Health:
Copies are obtained at Pueblo Radiology while you wait. If you would like copies to be mailed, please call and make arrangements with the clerk at (805) 682-7744 ext .2026. There is no charge for the first set of copies.
