Thank you for visiting our UCSB Student Health website. Our primary duty is to support student success by providing the highest quality of medical care and preventive services for students on our campus. We are fully certified by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC).

Student Health is open every weekday for urgent care and appointments, and we will refer you to local medical facilities if you need services we can’t provide. We are a full service multi-specialty medical clinic staffed with board-certified physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants, and including pharmacy, laboratory, X-Ray, physical therapy, vision care and dental care centers.

All registered students are eligible for our services, and orders from outside doctors may also be accommodated for your convenience. Most services are provided without charge to members of our Student Health Insurance Plan (UC SHIP). Any additional fees can be billed to BA/RC or credit card. There is no co-pay required for UC SHIP-insured students, so please take advantage of the care we offer.

To provide easy access for you, we offer many same-day appointments which you can make online, by phone (805-893-3371), or by stopping by. We use a state-of the-art electronic medical record system that allows you to confidentially email your questions to our doctors and nurses, or to ask general questions to a fellow student, our Patient  Advocates, Richard Artoul or Dominic Mullen

When our students are healthy in mind, body, and spirit, they can truly achieve greatness. We encourage you to explore our website and make an appointment with a primary care provider to discuss ways to stay healthy while at UCSB.  We want you to make Student Health your "medical home" and to see the same provider throughout your enrollment at UCSB. Along with what's available at our health center, Student Health provides excellent resources both on campus and off.

Lastly, we encourage students to get involved in our Student Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) on campus.  This group advocates for students on various health related issues and helps us design our services to meet the unique needs of university students.  Contact Richie Artoul or Dominic Mullen, if you’re interested in attending our these meetings.

Welcome to Student Health!  Best wishes from all of us for a successful academic year.
