Missed Appointments

What if I'm Late for my appointment?

If a patient arrives more than 5 minutes late for a 15 minute appointment, or 10 minutes late for a 30 minute appointment, but still within the appointment slot, the clinician will be called and given the option to see the patient or to request that the patient reschedule.

If a patient arrives after his/her appointment slot has ended, the appointment will be considered missed and a missed appointment charge, currently $55, will be assessed whether or not the patient is seen.  The clinician will still be called to decide if s/he wishes to see the patient.

What if I cancel within 24 hours of the appointment

If a patient cancels a scheduled appointment less than 24 hours from the appointment time, s/he will be assessed a "Late Cancellation" fee, currently $25.

What if I forgot I had an appointment?

The appointment will be considered missed and a missed appointment charge, currently $55, will be assessed.

How can I dispute the fee?

If a patient wishes to dispute the fee, s/he can complete a Fee Waiver form found in the SH lobby. Once completed, there is a drop box next to the Billing Office for a patient to submit the form.
